Summertime and it has been raining!

Well got a few pictures taken between the rains but they are rolling in again tonight. We really do have enough rain now for a few weeks!

So it's some vegetables and fruit and birds and who knows what today!
Sandcherries - not a big harvest this year!
 A young Warbler!
 A young sparrow!
Miniature rose from Walmart gift pot!
 Another rose!
An Oriental with a dirty face from rain splash!
Pest - chews stems about 6 inches off the ground!
Purple Martins gathered and waiting for the last of the babies to fly.

A young female Ruby Throated Hummer visited today!
 Another Sparrow.
A young Flicker checking the ground for bugs!
 The young male hummer!
Only September Ruby Apple ion the tree!
A few of these but last year was the big crop. No name.
I think this is a Clematis Lagoon seedling.
 Seedling Lilium.

Unusual plants - Ya Pear and some commercial apple seedlings.

Special times and a new month begins!

We had a very special time hosting a number of folks as a former Pastor and his wife and children were here for a brief visit with some family and friends. The evening had a few showers and a double rainbow to set it up as special. Not many mosquitoes but there were enough!
We finished the evening with fireworks (but no pictures as far as I know)
Fortunately we have an old portable garage frame and a tarp to pull over for protection!

It is also the time for berry harvest and flowers.
I picked chokecherries today and so they are done even though there are more on the trees.
We have all we need. This particular tree was really poor at releasing the stems so I threw them out. There are many others to choose from so I will put up some more pictures later.

It is also the season for the mid to late day lilies and so I will post some here. Mostly seedlings!
These two are different plants but I am beginning to think they are the same variety.

This is Atlas!

More later!
