It is interesting how the color is changing as the plants and the season advance. All these seeds where from the same lot for the 3 Clematis crispa seedlings! Cool nights I think are giving everything more depth of color as the plants display more of the anthocyanins (purples, reds, blues) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthocyanin
I am so glad that even the plant with low chlorophyll in the leaves is also going to produce a flower or two yet. I have started a foliar feed of Iron Chelates to see if that is the issue!
The third flower is on that plant and is quite long so very interested to see if it will curl lots!

I have a number of new seedlings coming of Clematis crispa so my woodwork shop will be full this winter!
Here are some others as well. Clematis viticella and Clematis fremontii and Clematis mandschurica. By the way these are all seedlings and not wild collected. The bottom picture is an unknown seedling. Cute though!
