Yesterday I rewatered a number of pots of clematis seeds which I planted before Christmas. No sign of sprouting or anything, maybe they got dry as I had them sitting in the cold room till last week. Anyway I treated them with No-Damp water and set them under lights. We'll see. Also planted seed of Lonicera edulis X ? I gathered last summer (just 32 seeds). I am hoping for seed from several new sources and also to being able to see the seedlings I transplanted in the fall. Seed came from a UPICK near Sapporo, Japan, thanks to some friends. Planted them on 4 x 4 ft. centres. I will need 4 more to fill this planting. I planted young spruce at the end of each row. Just waiting for spring as they are under 3 - 4 ft. of snow.
