Well I have set many selected groups of Clematis seeds to germinate as well as some fruit and other plants. The Clematis have begun to germinate so here are some pictures!
The particular sets here are # 1 Clematis fusca - selected form from a friend in Great Britain, and #6 is also a Clematis fusca - Clematis integrifolia x fusca as well from the same friend.
This is so exciting as they have germinated being set on January 5, 2019. Each group of seeds was soaked in water for three days and then popped into a bag of damp vermiculite. All the bags were put in a plant tray on the shelf in my furnace room growing area under lights (lights are not needed but I have other things going on as well) so the temperature is around 20 C!
In the workshop a new Clematis to me, and as mentioned in my previous post, Clematis Piilu has been identified and is continuing to bloom.
The first flower is in the small square and is showing some color irregularity but the newest flower is quite uniform! There are many more buds coming on this small plant and growing in temperatures of 6 C to 15 C. Outdoors it has been as low as -40 C so this is quite a surprise.
Clematis Venosa Violacea is also budding quite well and photos will be coming as they open.
