It was such a beautiful morning here as the ice fog lifted and the blue sky and sunshine prevailed.
With temperatures at -16 C last night and daytime near 0 C it sure feels like spring is on the way. And under lights in the basement the lily seedlings (regular Asiatic type and daylily) are growing along with Morning Glories and Edible Blue Honeysuckle. More about the honeysuckles on that Blog on Wednesday. Too bad heating a greenhouse in this climate is sooo expensive. There are other things to start such as Goji Berries, tomatoes and peppers to name a few.So more later Clematis Morning Mist.

Beautiful picture!
It is warmer here these past few days too! We are having temps above freezing all day. I went shopping in just a heavy sweater and gloves for outerwear yesterday and was not cold! Wouldn't it be nice if everything melted now? Not likely, but what a treat that would be!
What a glorious looking day! Spring is certainly on its way - yay! :)
Lovely picture - like that in Manitoba this morning, too. Seems that you are a little warmer in the day than we are! It would be awesome to move into the greenhouse now - wish it was geothermal!! We're starting seeds in our sunroom right now, but we built a hoop house last year and we're starting to monitor both the temperature of the air and the soil so get some notion of when we could start things out there. We may try a bit of salad mix or some green onion bulbs - just as an experiment.
Thanks everyone for dropping in. I am so glad to see the temperatures getting better but growing your summer plants in the house is not the best choice. I want to start tomatoes and peppers soon but I already have all my light shelves fill!!
And having a greenhouse is not all that helpful unless you have access to unlimited heat from gas or electric and then the cost overwhelms the benefit. Ah life in a temperate climate!! One benefit of having plants in the house is that I am getting to cross pollinate my Clematis by hand. Seed set already on one and I pollinated the other this morning. Time will tell.
hello neighbour!
just popping by from norah's 'the vine' to say hi ...
i see you are having beautiful frosty landscapes as well these days ... isn't it glorious?
even though we are still covered in white, the air sure does give one the growing itch big time ...
off to see more of your delightful blog ...
cheers,
